Urban, Environmental, and Sustainable Advisory

According to the UN, by 2030, 35 out of 43 mega cities will be in emerging markets, which lack the financial resources to manage their environmental impact

Mega cities have unique challanges

We leverage our 30+ years of sustainable development, environmental leadership, and ESG thought leadership to bring much needed ESG and green infrastructure solutions to the world’s most pressing problems.

The rapid rise of mega cities in Asia, and their accompanying unstructured urbanization has led to environmental issues ranging from unmonitored emissions, water stress at the basin level, widespread soil contamination, and loss of biodiversity. We believe that these challenges can be solved by innovating at the intersection of ESG, capital markets, progressive urban public policy, and technology.

We work collaboratively with stakeholders across the spectrum. We partner with educational institutions, cities, consulting partners, capital markets, and NGOs to facilitate and proactively create solutions that lead to a better world.

Governments for good

Municipal governments have to balance demands that rapid population growth has brought along with existing limitations of infrastructure, municipal finance and capital markets.

Put in perspective, less than 3% of the global population lived in cities in 1800, by the end of the 20th century that figure had risen to 47%. Extrapolating migration and economic trends, its feasible that the more than two-thirds of the human population will live in cities by 2050.

Inter-disciplinary innovation by the leading technology, financial and educational institutions has led to innovative solutions like the Cap-and-Trade Program, which can not only help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but complement other programs and lead to sustainable economic growth.

We facilitate this type of innovation and thinking.
